In an effort to enhance data protection and privacy practices in Nigeria, a series of capacity-building sessions were held in Abuja and Lagos. These events were a collaborative initiative between the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) with a specific aim of developing the necessary human and institutional capacity.
The training aimed to strengthen data protection practices within the participants’ organisations, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle data protection challenges effectively. The sessions also emphasised the importance of accountability, the implementation of robust data security measures and documentation.
