NDPC Trains INGOs on Data Protection

The National Commissioner/CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Dr Vincent Olatunji, was ably represented by the Head of Research and Development, Dr Tolulope Pius-Fadipe, at the Data Protection Training Workshop organised for the Nigeria INGO Forum (NIF). The workshop aimed to enhance awareness and build capacity in data protection among international non-governmental organisations operating in Nigeria.

Dr Pius-Fadipe emphasised the critical role of data protection in fostering trust, ensuring regulatory compliance, and strengthening Nigeria’s digital economy. She highlighted the NDPC’s commitment to enforcing data protection laws and promoting a culture of accountability in data management practices across various sectors.

The training session provided a platform for interactive discussions, allowing participants to engage with experts, ask questions, and explore practical strategies for implementing data protection measures within their organisations. Through initiatives like this, the NDPC continues to support capacity building and the adoption of global best practices in data protection and security across Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.
