NDPC Trains 40,000 Benue Civil Servants on Data Protection and Privacy

Following the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Nigerian Data Protection Commission (NDPC) and the Benue State Digital Infrastructure Company, the NDPC facilitated a four-day training program for 40,000 civil servants from both the state and local government public services of Benue State. Participants at the training included Permanent Secretaries, Directors, Deputy Directors, and other government officials.

The training aimed to equip participants with knowledge and skills on a range of topics, including an introduction to data protection and privacy, principles of personal data processing, data subjects’ rights, data security, and more.

The execution of this MoU aligns with one of the pillars of the NDPC’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP) in the area of awareness. The NDPC is committed to raising awareness about data protection and privacy in the public sector.
