The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Abuja chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) on the 2025 National Code4Privacy Hackathon 2.0.
The National Commissioner/CEO of the NDPC, Dr Vincent Olatunji, during his remark, expressed his delight and commended ISACA for being a strategic partner to the Commission since its inception. He also acknowledged ISACA’s effort in mentoring winners of the first edition of the Hackathon, noting that initiatives like this contribute to achieving the priority areas of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
Dr Olatunji stated that Nigeria has talented youth who create solutions that could solve global digital problems, and this Hackathon provides a platform for them to showcase their skills on the international space. He pointed out that the MoU will further strengthen the partnership between the NDPC and ISACA for the good of Nigerians in the digital ecosystem.
Speaking on behalf of ISACA, the Abuja chapter President, Emmanuel Omoke, commended the Commission, under the leadership of Dr Olatunji, for its support to ISACA, and for its push at improved awareness on data protection and privacy through sectorial engagements. He affirmed that Nigerians do not lack talent and that the Hackathon would serve as a major platform for showcasing the digital skills of Nigerians, and reiterated ISACA’s commitment to making the Hackathon a success.
