Nigeria Hosts Successful NADPA-RAPDP AGM, Focuses on Advancing Data Privacy Across Africa

The 2025 edition of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Network of African Data Protection Authorities was held in Abuja, with 20 member-nations in attendance.

The National Commissioner/CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Dr Vincent Olatunji, welcomed the heads of Data Protection Authorities (DPAs) to Nigeria for the AGM. He thanked them for their cooperation and contributions to the success of the Conference held at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, Nigeria.

Deliberations to advance data protection and privacy in Africa took long hours, underscoring the importance these countries attach to the ecosystem to ensure it becomes a culture. Nations present at the meeting included Nigeria, Angola, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Morocco, The Gambia, Cape Verde, South Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Eswatini. Others were Mali, Mauritania, Benin, Senegal, Somalia, Uganda, Chad, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Côte d’Ivoire won the hosting rights for the next NADPA-RAPDP Conference and Annual General Meeting.
