Nigeria’s Data Protection Commission Advocates for Stronger Digital Security in West Africa

The Head of Information Technology and Cybersecurity at the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Mr Olorunisomo Isola, participated in a high-level plenary session on “Enhancing Digital Resilience: Cybersecurity, Data Protection, and Online Safety,” at the West African Internet Governance Forum 2025, held in Abuja.

During the session, Mr Isola spoke on the importance of collaborative regulation, proactive cyber defense, and robust data privacy frameworks to protect citizens and support innovation amid growing digital threats and rapid technological evolution.

His contributions reinforced NDPC’s commitment to building a secure, inclusive, and trusted digital environment. By advocating for cross-border cooperation and policy alignment in cybersecurity and data governance, Mr Isola signalled the role of the NDPC as a regional leader in shaping a resilient digital future for West Africa.
