The National Commissioner/CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Dr Vincent Olatunji, was ably represented by the Head of Research and Development, Dr Tolulope Pius-Fadipe, at the Data Protection Induction Training Workshop organised for the Command and Control Centre staff of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS). The workshop aimed to enhance awareness and build capacity in data protection in the immigration sector in Nigeria.
The one-day training, facilitated by experts from the Commission, aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to protect personal data in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDP Act), while fostering a culture of privacy within the immigration sector and beyond.
The training session provided a platform for interactive discussions, allowing participants to engage with experts, ask questions, and explore practical scenarios for implementing data protection measures within their organisation. Through initiatives like this, the NDPC continues to support capacity building and the adoption of global best practices in data protection and privacy across all sectors in Nigeria.
