In line with its strategic roadmap on cooperation and collaboration, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chartered Institute of Directors of Nigeria (CIoD) at the Commission’s headquarters.

In his remarks, the National Commissioner/CEO of the NDPC, Dr Vincent Olatunji, commended the leadership of the Institute for its commitment to advancing data protection among its members. He emphasised that the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model adopted by the Commission remains central to its progress, particularly in enhancing compliance. He further noted that awareness of data protection should not be limited to members alone but should extend to their respective organisations, as this would foster trust and credibility.

The Director-General of the Chartered Institute of Directors of Nigeria (CIoD), Dr Taiwo Alausa, appreciated Dr Olatunji for his continued support for the Institute and expressed delight at formalising the partnership with the Commission.

To ensure effective implementation of the MoU, an implementation team was constituted to develop action plans and commence execution immediately.
