Advancing Responsible AI: NDPC Champions ‘Trust by Design’ at AI Everything Abu Dhabi 2026

The National Commissioner/CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Dr Vincent Olatunji, accompanied by the Head of Information Technology and Cybersecurity, Olorunisomo Isola, participated in AI Everything Abu Dhabi 2026 at the ADNEC Centre, Abu Dhabi.

The summit featured high-level discussions on AI sovereignty, trustworthy and responsible AI, human oversight, cybersecurity, agentic AI and AI-driven transformation of government and enterprise services.

Among the key sessions attended were discussions on Abu Dhabi’s AI vision, sovereign AI capabilities and the principles of trustworthy AI, including reliability, accountability and the protection of vulnerable users as AI systems become increasingly autonomous.

The delegation also participated in technical sessions examining the transition from chatbots to secure enterprise-grade AI agents, safety and security in AI-enabled environments and the concept of trust by design in building agentic systems capable of operating with increasing levels of autonomy.

As part of the Commission’s industry engagements, Dr Olatunji met with SEINETIME, a France-based AI company, for a demonstration of its enterprise AI solution. Discussions focused on how AI can integrate organisational data, workflows and institutional knowledge to support smarter and more efficient decision-making, while ensuring privacy, security, accountability and responsible data use.

The NDPC’s participation in AI Everything Abu Dhabi 2026 reinforces the Commission’s commitment to advancing responsible AI, data protection and digital trust in Nigeria, while drawing from emerging global practices in AI governance and digital trust.
