The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) received the Data Protection and Incident Response Team of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for a dedicated engagement session on data protection best practices. The visit forms part of a five-day in-house exercise on data protection compliance procedures and the identification of documentation gaps within the ICPC.
The engagement session, aimed at strengthening the ICPC’s institutional compliance with the provisions of the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (NDP Act), featured a presentation on data protection compliance procedures and documentation gaps by the Head of the Regulations Unit at the Commission, Mrs Ibukunoluwa Adeloye. Also, an officer from the IT & Cybersecurity Department of the Commission, Mr Victor Danladi, spoke on the technical obligations required to ensure data protection and privacy best practices at the ICPC.
The session was interactive, with participants asking questions on various aspects of data protection compliance and implementation. The questions were duly and correctly addressed, further enhancing participants’ understanding of the provisions and requirements of the NDP Act.
