The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) participated in the Microsoft AI Skills Week 2026, a leadership gathering hosted by the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr ‘Bosun Tijani.
This high-level engagement commemorates the 2nd anniversary of Nigeria’s National AI Strategy, offering a moment to reflect on its journey and impact. The event also acknowledged the Commission’s support in enabling participation in the Microsoft-supported Capacity Building Programme delivered in collaboration with Data Science Nigeria.
Representing the Commission was the Head of the Innovation Unit, Mrs Adaobi Nwankwo, alongside the programme’s top performers and other beneficiary staff. A major highlight was the recognition of the top five participants for their outstanding performance.
The session emphasised the real impact of the initiative, the practical application of knowledge in regulatory processes, and the importance of continuous learning in strengthening effective data governance.
This engagement reaffirms NDPC’s commitment to building capacity, driving innovation, and advancing responsible AI and data protection in Nigeria.
