NDPC and NACCIMA Sign Historic MoU to Boost Investor Confidence and Drive FDI into Nigeria

The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), led by the National Commissioner/CEO, Dr Vincent Olatunji, achieved a major milestone in the area of collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) at the NACCIMA office in Abuja.

Speaking at the event, Dr Olatunji commended NACCIMA, under the leadership of Engineer (Dr) Jani Ibrahim, for its proactive approach to data protection and privacy. He commended his participation in the National Privacy Week 2026, and noted that NACCIMA, being a body with numerous data controllers and processors of major importance, is strategic to the Nigerian economy. He stated that the MoU is expected to deepen privacy in the organised private sector, and attract foreign direct investments into Nigeria in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

In his remarks, Engineer Ibrahim commended Dr Olatunji for his leadership style at the NDPC. He noted that global businesses are going digital, and can only be trusted when data protection and privacy have been put in place. He reiterated that operationalising the MoU will boost investor confidence in the Nigerian economy, and improve the general well-being of all Nigerians and Nigerian businesses.

Concluding the event, Dr Olatunji was also inducted as a Member of NACCIMA.
