NDPC and Nigeria INGO Forum Align on Global Best Practices for Humanitarian Data Safety

The National Commissioner/CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Dr Vincent Olatunji, was ably represented by the Head of Research and Development, Dr Tolulope Pius-Fadipe, at a two-day data protection workshop organised for the Nigeria INGO Forum (NIF).

Participants explored Nigeria’s data protection and privacy framework, focusing on lawful processing of personal data, safeguarding sensitive information, third-party risk management, cross-border data transfers, accountability documentation, and effective breach response strategies.

The workshop also involved state government representatives, encouraging dialogue on lawful, secure, and coordinated data-sharing practices among institutions to strengthen collaboration and compliance across sectors.

Overall, the interactive sessions combined discussions and practical exercises, equipping participants with valuable knowledge and skills while inspiring collaboration and commitment to global practice.
