NDPC Trains Staff, Others For Certification Pilot-Test

In line with the implemention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda in the area of economic growth and job creation, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) commenced a pilot test of the National Data Protection Certification process, starting with a 3-day training program leading to a data privacy certification examination. This marks a major milestone for the Commission, following several rigorous preparatory activities geared towards producing about 500,000 globally competitive data protection professionals.

The training program, facilitated by experts from the Commission and Nigeria’s data protection ecosystem, adheres to international standards for certifications. This ensures that trainees who are selected staff members from the Commission and various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) across Nigeria, receive high-quality training, equipping them to tackle the evolving challenges in the data protection ecosystem. Trainees were provided with comprehensive learning materials to support their progress.

Through its commitment to developing skilled DPOs, the NDPC is strengthening Nigeria’s data protection ecosystem and contributing to a safer digital future.
