NDPC Signs MoU with DPAs of Morocco and The Gambia

As part of activities during the 2026 Network of African Data Protection Authorities (NADPA-RAPDP) Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM), the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with two other Data Protection Authorities (DPAs) in Abidjan.

The MoUs with the DPAs, the Morocco Data Protection Authority (CNDP) and the Gambia Information Commission (GIC), outlined areas of collaboration, including mutual legal assistance, knowledge exchange, and information sharing to support the enforcement and harmonisation of data protection laws.

The National Commissioner/CEO of the NDPC, Dr Vincent Olatunji, expressed optimism on the potential impact of the MoUs in strengthening regulatory harmonisation across multiple jurisdictions. He noted that the global digital economy is interconnected, cooperation and collaboration through MOUs are essential in fostering trust and building investors’ confidence from one country to another.

The President of the CNDP, Mr Omar Seghrouchni, signed on behalf of the CNDP, while the Head of the GIC, Ms Nene MacDouall-Gaye, signed on behalf of the GIC.
